Christian “Mio” Loclair is a german founder, computer scientist and media artist based in Berlin. His practice explores the intersection of technology, human nature, and natural phenomena, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence and generative systems.

Trained in computer science (University of Potsdam, Hasso Plattner Institute) and dance, Loclair works across disciplines to create sculptures, installations, and performances that investigate how algorithms and data shape contemporary culture. 

As the founder of Waltz Binaire and Journee, he merges creativity and artificial intelligence to build human level artificial intelligence.

His works have been exhibited internationally, including at the Centre Pompidou (Paris), ZKM (Karlsruhe), the Design Museum (London), Today Art Museum (Beijing), and Ars Electronica (Linz) and presented at institutions and forums such as MIT and the United Nations.

Loclair’s projects — from robotic installations and digital sculptures to immersive video works — articulate questions of identity, authorship, and agency in the age of machine intelligence.

His approach combines formal rigor with conceptual depth, positioning his work at the convergence of contemporary art, research, and entrepreneurship.
